By knowing the conversion factor, converting between units can become a simple multiplication problem: Some are obvious, such as pounds per square inch, but even the SI standard Pascal is actually an expression of one Newton per square meter. Since pressure is derived from force and area, many units for pressure directly relate force to area. Where P is equal to pressure, F is the normal force and A is area. I still think about rebuilding it, but I'm still focusing on the other truck. The frame is solid or white short box cap mint, still lots of good parts. The 89 4L 6 cylinder 4x4 could have been restored, but I took anything I needed from it. Took me about 8 months to get it on the road, in all I think I have about 3000 into it, and it's a solid reliable first truck. The 89 has came in handy, took lots of parts and body pieces off it. It's had its problems, brake booster, slave cylinder, a bit laggy and doesn't like the cold, great truck overall. It's got over 370000 kms on it, I believe its engine has been replaced. I also got a spare rim in the deal, so that's under the back. It's lifted 3 inches and I put 31"10" on my aluminum 15"rims. The 86 is my driver, it's a 2L 4 cylinder standard 5 speed, bucket seats with a console, tan interior, black exterior. The pair had been neglected, but I got them both for $1000. Seems excellent so far, and since I am the second owner, it's a great story behind the truck.Ībout a year ago I bought an 86 Comanche LB, and got an 89 parts Comanche SB for a parts truck on someones from yard in the middle of no where. I hope to fix the rear shocks, grease the window tracks, buy a Cherokee of the same era and stick with this pickup for awhile. That alone would cost half what I paid for the truck, if I ever do have trouble with smog tests, I can put that on and have no probs passing. It's neat to have a brand new in the original box catalytic converter that is 20 years old. I even got a brand new in the box, catalytic converter that everyone was sent back in 1989, as they did not put one into the truck originally, it has always passed smog tests here even without it. I have never had any vehicle made by Jeep, this is my first. I got it because it's cheap on gas, has a bench seat and besides a little bit of rust forming on the wheel lip near the plastic wheel well arch piece, it's basically rust free. Drove it the 45 minutes drive home and seemed great. It has some things that need work of course. It's a short box, and so far seems to get great fuel mileage. I got it from the original owner who'd had it for 20 years. I just picked up a 1989 Jeep Comanche 2wd with 2.5liter engine and 5 speed transmission. Our company cannot be the only user experiencing some of these issues. We have submitted requested all through 2018 for some of these to be addressed. When you first start using Knowify, it is not user friendly. PROSĪllows me to have a front-end to Quickbooks and provides for a little better job tracking. Knowify Support basically refers to the user manual for any questions - may as well start there before contacting them. Overall, it's alright as a support tool but I feel it still has a long way to go. Knowify allows me to better track materials and labor. 7) Class info did not sync 8) In Plan and Track the work order should autofill item description from the contract 9) t would be great if Comments were visible in Time entries Instead of having to click on them to see. 6)Can't do a $0 estimate -sometimes a customer wants to choose from options. 5)Estimate/Invoice template formats are not editable - I want to adjust which fields and where they go on the document. 4) Sub customer doesn't autofill address of top customer. And many of them do not allow us to choose a COGS type account. For a long time they did not save after I entered them. Also Autofill feature? Or a Copy previous bill? 2) Default accounts are confusing. And maybe allocate to the job not based on an item in contract. There should be a shortcut around entering an "Item" that allows choosing an expense account. CONSġ) The billing module is very detailed, so it takes a long time to enter bills. We do not use the Plan and Track feature, but I can see how that could be VERY helpful. Once they can get the sync figured out it will be a one-stop-shop for estimating, time-tracking, invoicing, scheduling. Knowify has many modules that are useful, however they do not all work with QBD quite yet. The online-ability is great for the boss in the field, but with QBD we have had to establish work arounds. At the same general quality, HEVC produces smaller files than H.264.įor constant-quality encoding, Handbrake can't use hardware acceleration, so it's stuck doing the math in software. Basically, the higher the bitrate, the better your video looks, and the bigger the resulting file is.Īt the same bitrate and file size, HEVC looks better than H.264. This results in smaller final file sizes - but while it looked pretty good to my untrained eye, the resulting picture quality might not match that of your second option.Īverage bitrate keeps the amount of compression within a much smaller range, hovering around a target you set. Then it adjusts how much compression it applies scene-by-scene to hit that quality mark. Constant quality asks you how close to the original, uncompressed file you want the compressed version to look. To make a very, very long story short, you have two options when compressing a video with H.264 or HEVC. (Big thanks to transcoding wizard Don Melton for his expertise on this next part.) HandBrake 1.2.0 and later enables Apple's VideoToolbox technology to dramatically speed up H.264 (and, for users of post-2017 Macs, HEVC) encoding … but there's a slight catch. Again, the trade-off here boils down fairly simply: a longer wait for smaller files, or a much shorter wait for somewhat larger ones. Once you've picked an algorithm, you need to decide how you're going to apply it to your video. They're generally considered comparable in quality to H.264 and HEVC, respectively. (Note that on some newer, faster computers, HandBrake will also offer Google's VP8 and VP9 encoders. And both held up no matter what I threw at them, from animated movies to black-and-white classics to films with lots of fast action and bright colors. In my tests, both H.264 and HEVC looked remarkably close to the original, even on a big TV screen. Older Macs can play HEVC files just fine, but only the newest models have chips fast enough to encode HEVC decently. If you don't have a Mac made from 2017 onward, stick with H.264. H.265 or HEVC makes files even smaller - but requires hefty processing power to crunch the necessary numbers. Tried-and-true H.264 converts relatively quickly, and it can squeeze a high-def Blu-ray file onto a DVD's worth of space or less. The first two aren't worth considering with the latter two available. HandBrake offers a choice of four compression algorithms: MPEG-2 (oldest, relatively lousy), MPEG-4 (still old, not great), H.264 (old, faster, pretty good), and HEVC/H.265 (new, slower, even better). HEVC: Which compression algorithm is best? Let's discuss a couple of the choices you'll need to weigh before you start putting your videos through the wringer. Because the water is so clear (with up to 30 feet of visibility) and surf is pretty light in summer, this is a prime spot for snorkeling and diving, though you might very well be able to see down to the ocean floor without donning any gear at all, depending on the conditions. Where to eat/drink: You’ll want to stroll through the resort while you’re on the island, and it’s a good option for a convenient-albeit-pricey cocktail or a bite. If you’ve got your dog in tow, note that nearly all areas of the beach here prohibit pups, but they are allowed (off-leash!) at the sandy area on the north end of the beach that’s been creatively dubbed Coronado Dog Beach. You’ll find killer views from Point Loma down to Mexico, and since the public beach is bordered on both sides by beaches belonging to the island’s naval base, keep an eye out for and naval ships and aircraft carriers. We are also avid audiobook fans, and keep a subscription to Audible that feeds us new books monthly. We also have a selection of documents and files that we use to test the clarity of the Kindle display, and the ease of transferring our own files. We use our Kindle devices to read books from Amazon, and we also use accounts from our local libraries to load free ebooks onto our Kindle. The Scribe has even more, but offers more of a big-screen tablet experience, backed up by its stylus.Īll Kindle ereaders can hold thousands of books, but if you plan on using your Kindle for audiobooks, you should upgrade to a model with 16GB or more storage. The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition meanwhile is what you should go for if you want the maximum possible storage in a conventional Kindle. So can the Kindle Oasis, but that's a much more expensive, premium device than most folks will need, with a nicer build and a larger, brighter screen. That device can get wet, even with salt water. If you like to read in the bath, or if you take your Kindle to the beach and get close to the waves, you'll want a Kindle Paperwhite. It has the same number of pixels per inch as the best Kindle ereader you can find, so every Kindle excels at reading text and print. The basic Amazon Kindle 2022 is a fine ereader, and will likely be enough for most people. Overall, it's a premium device, and you can't get more on a Kindle unless you go for the much larger Kindle Scribe. The design is different from other Kindle devices, with a pronounced grip on the back that makes it easier to hold. It also has page turn buttons, which is a nice feature if your hands are wet. It has a larger, brighter display than the other Kindle ereaders other than the Scribe, so it will stand out. Unless it's a very fancy beach, in which case you'll want to show off with the Oasis. The Kindle Oasis used to be the only water resistant model, but now the Paperwhite is also safe in the bath or by the beach. They are all plastic, while the Oasis has a premium metal shell that feels great to hold. The other Kindle devices – aside from the even pricier Kindle Scribe – feel cheap in comparison. This is the luxury Kindle, the fancy model, and it isn't hard to see why Amazon needs the Kindle Oasis in the family. Read the full Amazon Kindle Scribe review Just like any Kindle, the battery lasts forever, it holds tons of books and audiobooks, and it's a joy to read. It's expensive, but not as costly as an iPad, or as much as pricier e-paper tablets that run Android. If you're into journaling or doodling, or if you want to take notes in your electronic textbooks, the Kindle Scribe can handle the job, but we wish it worked harder.įor its big screen alone, which doesn't sacrifice sharpness to grow, we like the Kindle Scribe. Unfortunately, the eponymous pen features on the Scribe are a bit lacking, so this is more of a giant Kindle that can take notes, and not a note taking specialist. Compared to even the 7-inch Kindle Oasis, the Kindle Scribe is a much larger page, allowing you to blow up text to your heart's content without leaving only a few words on the screen. The Kindle Scribe is the only Kindle to buy if you want a gigantic screen, and the difference really is huge.
