![]() ![]() No one should be surprised that God called him home at 3:16 a.m. June 24, the day Brad came home from Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital on Hospice, Pastor Sarah Sedgwick conducted a worship service and served Communion to Brad, family, and church friends. He was an active member of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder on the Session and Zoomed with church friends in a Tuesday night Bible study. Driving his red Jeep, sitting in his recliner, eating strawberry shortcake, participating in family text messages, reading magazines, listening to music, watching old movies and Andy Griffith reruns, shopping at Ollie’s, and cheering on the Nittany Lions were some of his favorite pastimes. Later in life, he loved to golf and watch PGA tournaments on TV. One of his favorite responsibilities was The Sentinel’s weekly Outdoors page because he loved to hunt and fish. ![]() He started out as a reporter/photographer and advanced to news editor and then editor, as well as serving a time as “IT man.” He worked on the Pennsylvania Game Commission pheasant farm in Schwenksville before starting a 35-year career in the newsroom at The Sentinel, Lewistown, in 1979. and a great-nephew, Simon Dickson Siddons and many cousins, with whom he shared wonderful childhood memories of growing up on the family farm in Montgomery County.Ī 1968 graduate of Methacton High School, Brad attended the University of Montana and Montgomery County Community College before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in print journalism in 1975 at the Pennsylvania State University. Then, in the midst of a pandemic, God blessed Pop with a grandson, Donald Riden.īrad also is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Loren Siddons, Lititz a nephew, Andrew Siddons and his wife, Margaret Dickson, Washington, D.C. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 35 years, Elaine (Sauer) Siddons, whom he married on September 1,1985.Īlso surviving are three daughters, whom he loved with all his heart and was so proud of the women they have become: Leah (Siddons) and her husband, Dustin Riden, Lewistown Sarah Siddons and her fiance, Richard Wood, Lincoln, CA, and Chelsea Siddons, Chattanooga, TN.īut the latest love of his life was his granddaughter, Abigail Riden, whose daily artwork kept her Pop going during stem cell transplants in 20 at Geisinger Medical Center. He died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family, the love and prayers of family and friends, and the comfort of Hospice care.īradley Myers Siddons, 70, of 331 Sand Ridge Road, Lewistown, was born on August 21, 1950, in Norristown, the son of the late Clara (Myers) and Lawrence Siddons of Worchester.
